Microsoft Research’s studio99 Gallery opened in November 2012 with a series of exhibits by Microsoft employees.

The studio99 Gallery space was opened by Peter Lee, the head of Microsoft Research, in November 2012.

The opening exhibit featured work from members of Microsoft Research Redmond as well as several collaborations with local artists.

Shadow Inverted is an interactive installation exhibited at the studio99 Gallery opening. This installation was created in collaboration between artist Maja Petrić and researcher Hrvoje Benko.


This inaugural event was followed by an exhibition of projects from Microsoft Research MakeFest, and then an exhibit featuring 87 photographs from employees from all of Microsoft’s labs, including Cambridge, Beijing, and the newest lab, Microsoft Antarctica.
